I submit a combined report of an attack by Japanese

碣石 海 丰 upon six junks which took place off KIT SHEK in HOI FUNG

District in the early morning of 9th January, 1940.

Five of the junks were a total loss.

The approximate amount of the total losses are given

in each case.

All the crews returned to Hong Kong by junk 1172 H.A.

the crew of the latter having succeeded in extinguishing the

fire on their junk.

It is believed that a total of at least fifty junks

were set afire on this occasion.
